Case Study - Office Fit Out
National Grid, No. 1 Strand
Situated at No1 Strand, RMS undertook a 20,000 sq ft Cat B office fit out for National Grid.
The contract was a challenging 16 weeks duration with full responsibility for the design of the mechanical services and added coordination constraints brought by the castellated beam layout. The existing VAV systems were stripped out and the on floor plantrooms reclaimed for WC areas. A new 4 pipe fan coil unit system was installed to serve the open plan, meeting rooms and board room areas. There were several uniquely architectural feature areas that required very detailed setting out to ensure the concept was achieved.
Overall the project was very successful and RMS were employed by the Landlord to undertake plant and riser modifications on the remaining floors in preparation for the building to support the new fan coil unit systems.
